I registered with my generated password of 40 characters. This worked fine.
After being logged out i came back later and then couldn't use the correct password, because the password form field has a max length of 36 characters.
Steps to reproduce:
1. register / change password with password > 36 chars
2. try logging in with this password
We would like to use TimeCamp reports to replace our existing method of submitting weekly reports. The way permissions are set up for projects/programs, too much visibility is provided to all "Project Managers" of tasks. It would be great if the notes field could be configured so that this data is only available to the direct supervisor or above, rather than anyone with project manager access to the the Project. This way, there is no concern that sensitive information in reports can be queried by people other than the person's manager, and therefore makes it possible to use these as weekly reports which highlight barriers or obstacles.
Would be nice to have a sum total of hours completed for an invoice, as well as a total cost for an invoice below the "Services" category, as well as the "Products" category. Sort of like a subtotal for each section of the invoice.
Tasks should inherit settings from projects and subtasks from tasks.
For instance, I have one general project (non billable) for many administrative tasks. I create those tasks, but while the project is non billable, I have to go back to projects and change the default each time, if I create the task while entering the activity. This alone takes one-two minutes away from productivity. The same for subtasks of a task.
It goes natural that a task in a billable project is billable and one in non billable is non billable. The same goes for tags and for person assigned to the task (I don't use it, but then again).
The current way of approving of the timesheet can be improved by providing a visual interface to see the person's timesheet in the "week" view and a button to approve from that view.
I have a need to find a task (in my large list of tasks) by simply clicking a link. I do not wish to "share a link" because I would have to do this fir each and every task.
Can something be done where I can either browse directly to the task with a given task id?
Or can something else like automatically performing a search once I come in to the site with a given url, be done?
This would allow to have a parent task as budget control which is usually (in our case) linked to a fixed overall budget.
For example: 80H - Product Portfolio Development (all subtasks are project level tasks for employes and don't have any influence on project budget)
All Subtasks can have budgets but are not accumulated with parent total.
We would really need this with Jira integration. Estimates for developers are not the same as fixed project time budgets.
I am currently working on various projects, with unique calendars (Apple, Outlook, Google, Google Project 1, Google Project 2) and project management tools, Asana, etc...
Through the calendars features, I can add one calendar to another, and through one calendar I can actually see the full scope of all my calendars, so that is great, but it is a nightmare actually keeping track how much work has been done for each project, according to each task.
It would be great, if we could assign a calendar to a project, so that any meeting added to project 1 calendar, is then added and accounted for in project 1 in timecamp automatically.
There are all other ways to over come language setting but
We will be delighted if you could add on a Japanese language setting.

We need to have more options for classifying our tasks. Acute challenge is that the two options billable / non-billable are not enough for our company.
We would greatly appreciate a Chrome Plugin for BaseCamp 3 so that we can log time on a project directly from the BaseCamp web interface.
Thank you and kind regards,
The projects filter field, when the Active Tasks field is selected, allows the user to select Projects and Tasks with checkboxes.
As soon as Active and Archived Tasks is selected, the filter changes and you are only able to select one item from the filtered list.
This is totally counter-productive as we report from different sources (TimeCamp/Zendesk/BaseCamp) and some task may still be active but others are archived (or Solved/Closed in Zendesk or Completed in BaseCamp 3).
Even though we can draw the report from a customised report and filter it in Excel, the custom reports do not show the Time Start and End and this just makes it a time-consuming exercise.
PLEASE change the filter option for Active and Archived reports to the same as Active only.
Currently TimeCamp automatically imports ALL Xero Contacts regardless of whether they are Cusdtomers, Suppliers, or anything else - even Credit Card Companies. If I delete any from TimeCamp, the next time I open TimeCamp the deleted Contacts are back again. This is unworkable.
The best option would be to show a list from Xero, filtered by Contacts that are Customers, and allow the User to select the Customers to import.
Could you implement a firefox add-on, like the Chrome one ?
I use Todoist and the actual integration only let TimeCamp to see the projects and tasks hierarchy, but doesn't allow to see priority, planification, etc. So it is far easier to start task time count from Todoist.
I expect the Windows system tray to show just one TimeCamp icon, but when I open the tray an icon appears for each process. Shortly after this, the icons condense to just one. Please eliminate the redundant icons.

The ability to delete computer activities directly from the timesheet without deleting the entire time entry. selecting the unwanted ones with the check boxes that are already there, but then have a delete selected option or something
There are sometimes errors on my computer that pop up during the night, or adds that pop up and it records that as active computer time when it is not. It seems to even record the reminder to track my time as active computer time. So my timesheet is full, but the majority is computer functions that I'd like the program to completely ignore. It is quite labour intensive to have to go in each day and delete all of the unwanted computer activity, and it appears to be currently all or nothing. For example I can't select certain entries in the "timecamp data collector" computer activity for it to delete, it's either delete all entries or none.
Every task is billable by default. There is no setting to change this, and no way to bulk edit, so it takes quite a lot of navigation and clicking to change tasks from billable to non-billable (or vice versa). It's nice that I can change the colour for a whole tree at once, but billing is more important to manage easily.
Today, only timecamp can display a external calendar. But, in my company, we use outlook calendar. I'd like to display my timesheet in my outlook calendar.
I had TimeCamp (old) installed on Windows 10. I installed TimeCamp Desktop (new). Both applications were then running. Both widgets were available. I closed the old application and uninstalled it and the Widget for the new application went away. I reinstalled the new application. No change. I rebooted. No change. I downloaded the version again and reinstalled. No change. Where has the widget gone?

Make the "notes" field something that only direct supervisors can see. Or, create a setting that allows supervisors to only query the time reports of people who report to them, rather than everyone working on a project. suggestion

Select default for how task is created (Start Timer vs Add Time Entry) suggestion
When adding a new task, I always use the timer. But the default for creating a new task is "Add Time Entry".
Could you add a check box, within a users settings, that sets their desired default for Task Selection to be either "Start Timer" or "Add Time Entry"?
Better budget control with: Ignore subtask estimates (checkbox) suggestion
What is the benefit?
This would allow to have a parent task as budget control which is usually (in our case) linked to a fixed overall budget.

More/Custom Project Colors suggestion
Is it possible either to add more colors or better yet to make it possible to color-code projects with custom HEX color?
Thanks!
Hello! It is not possible now, but thank you for the idea - we will consider it in future improvements.
Ability to filter projects with the option to select specific projects / tasks in all reports when you have selected Active and Archived Tasks is selected suggestion

The ability to share the root project link where it automatically includes all sub categories suggestion
For example: client with the name clientX and I have multiple projects underneath clientX.
ClientX
-Project1
-Project2
At the moment I can shere the link but I have to explicitly check project 1 and 2.
What will be nice is if we have a link on the root project to include all sub projects so I don't have to resend an link every time we add an project.
So ideally it will be a page where the client can go and pull their own reports without logging in
